About Our Students

Though our Dojo is small in size and modest in appearance, we are large in the sprit of Karate-Do.  Through traditional training the students at Vargas Bushi-Te Dojo have picked up in the competition arena where Vargas Sensei has left off. Through the mind set of "if the mind can conceive the body can achieve" and a desire for excellence the students have responded with wins at the USA-NKF Junior Olympics, Pan American Games, NKF Nationals Championships, and numerous State and Local events.

Other Students photographed who won State Championships were Tito Rodriguez, Luis Roca, Vanessa Vargas, Chris Gonzalez, Jaron Addison, Triandes Frazier, Tiffany Santiago, Irving Figueroa, and Gregory Newton.

Below: a young Senpai Vernon Hypolite (about 10 years old) working hard towards perfecting his skills, in the six years he spent studying with me, Vernon went on to win first places in almost all the divisions he entered. The Divisions entered were Kata, Kumite, and Kobudo. He took first place honors at such events as the USA-NKF National Championships, USA-NKF Junior Olympics, AAU Karate State Championships, and the USA-NKF NJ State Championships.
